The Michigan Unemployment website is not working. What do I do?

Keep trying! We’ve heard from several people that they were successfully able to file, but it took a long time due the massive amount of people in the state of Michigan who were also impacted by the shutdown. Try filing early in the morning or late at night. The site tends to be less busy at those times.

What options do I have if I don’t have a computer and can’t get through on the phone?

We have heard that Michigan Works will make an appointment and they will assist you. You must call first and they will set a time. As of Monday, March 30, Michigan Works! will be delivering services by phone, online, or other virtual technologies only.

What will happen to my benefits while I’m off work?

Your benefits through the Coastal Group Health Plan will continue for 30 days in the event of a layoff. If we need to catch up on paying your missed insurance premiums, we’ll do that when you return to work.

How will I know when to return to work?

We will text you and also send an email to your personal email!
